"A clever, sensitive and accurate distribution of the landscapes depicted, with a well executed perspective that is dominated by a poetic distance, made of contrasts between light and mist, between lines and vapor, which enrich his paintings of Olot influence, well rooted with a long cultural heritage that Fermín Colomer has actively and compelling assumed."

— Rafael Kyoga Berliner, Sociologist and Writer

FERMÍN COLOMER

Fermín Colomer was born in 1962, in Sant Feliu de Pallerols, Girona, Spain. In 1978 Colomer began receiving lessons from his father and artist, Josep Colomer. From 1989 to 1995 the artist traveled around Spain, as well as Brazil, France, Italy, Switzerland, Turkey, and Scandinavia, where he visited museums and observed the works of greatest Master painters. Colomer paints with techniques of Realism, following the School of Olot. His romantic almost hyper-real paintings depict his passion and sensitivity for his homeland. One is drawn to the paintings because of the way he depict the beauty of the landscape- the mountains, the sky, the lushness of the fields of wheat or the green meadow dotted with flowers, and the stream leading to small country homes - in glowing pinks, purples, oranges all blended into his subtle yet bold realism. Colomer often takes part in group and individual exhibitions, where he has received some awards. He is an active member of the Arts, Sciences and Letters Society of Paris. Fermín Colomer won the Alfonso Arana Prize in 1999 at the Val d'Or International Salon in France. The artist was also successful among the public in 2000 at the Florentais and Val de Cher art salons.
